Where is Lottie of Princess Sarah Now ?

You may have been familiar with the Princess Sarah memes. Where the cartoon character of Sarah is known in the social media as the girl who peels potatoes. But aside from the memes made from the creative minds of the Filipinos, in 1995, a live action Filipino version was made.

If you belong to the 90s kids you definitely know about these characters. There is also a song intended for its characters, “Sarah, Sarah, Prinsesa. Lottie, Lottie, iyakin..” And the song goes on describing each of the characters.

You might have heard of Sarah, ang Munting Prinsesa, where the main character, Sarah Crewe was played by the child star, Camille Prats. Other memorable character is the little child who often cries and Sarah would come to her aid and stop her from crying, her name is Lottie.

Just last February, she joined an outreach program for Aetas spearheaded by the company of his husband. She was able to recall her memories when she was able to recall her first encounter with the Aetas in 1996, when she played the role for the show “Maalaala Mo Kaya.” Her caption reads:

“Spending time with the Aeta community of Brgy Diaz. My first encounter with the Aetas was waaay back 1996 when I played an Aeta child in "Maala-ala Mo Kaya" and some scenes were shot with Aetas living in an evacuation center in Zambales.

22 years later, I am still awed by the strength of spirit that the Aetas have. They still don't have the same opportunities that we do, they are still marginalized and exploited by people with greedy hearts, but they persevered through the years.

I hope that in our simple way we reminded them that they are not forgotten.
As for my fellow volunteers, I hope this experience will serve as a constant reminder that people exist outside of our own little worlds. That our petty problems and complaints are nothing compared to what others are going through. I hope we are reminded that underneath our egos and sense of self importance, we are all humans. Just humans.  💖”

She is involved in theater for she plays as Maria Clara in the theater play “Noli Me Tangere” and “El Filibusterismo.” She also trains herself in playing a string instrument which is a ukulele, at the same time she sings as well. Her crying way back in 1995 in her Lottie role may have trained her vocal chords.  That’s about what Ani had become. What do you think of her? Share it with us.
