All of us dream to have a special someone but for the case of some people, finding true love is rare especially when you're working round the clock like this seaman. Thinking that he found the love of his life, this guy was able to dispense great amount of  cash for the woman he just met online. Here is the story:

23-year-old seafarer Frederick Egea lost a total of P600K because of a woman he just met online. We can't blame Frederick for instantly falling for Joana Mae Cruz because as seen on her photos she's really a good catch and the fact that Frederick is far away from home that he longs for a company which he probably found in Joana.

According to Rappler, Frederick met Joana on Facebook on June 2017 and from that day on, the 23-year-old seaman has been captivated to Joana to the point that he supports her financially during the span of their relationship.

Frederick was able to give out more than half a million pesos to Joana who requested the said amount to be used to finance her education and personal needs.

To his surprise, when Frederick came back to the country last month he got alarmed and dismayed on the times that Joana did not respond to his invitation for them to meet personally and often gave him excuses to prevent them from seeing each other. This rose Frederick's speculation that Joana was hiding something.

Fortunately, because of Frederick's eagerness to trace Joana, he was able to locate her but upon knowing her whereabouts, Frederick was shocked after he found the true identity of  his online girlfriend.

The Joana Mae Cruz he met online do not really exist but a poser. Angelica Miguel, 21, was the person behind Joana Mae Cruz's acount and admitted that she just used the photos of Angelica Calanog so she could extort money from men online.

Feeling that the situation is still under her control, Miguel continued to request money from Frederick and threatened the seaman that she'd do something to Calanog if he refused to hand her over P26K cash.

Through an entrapment operation, Miguel was arrested along with her 6 accomplices. Miguel and her group will face multiple charges including robbery, estafa and identity theft.
