Empoy's Hit Movie Now Has a Indonesian Version

All good films deserve to be watched over and over again and you will never tire from seeing it. Despite knowing the lines and scenes of the films, all those films will always be worth it.

Can you still remember the girl on a heart shaped costume partnered with a strange man in banana costume? And the statement, “Saging lang ang may puso!”

If you are from the Philippines, you definitely have heard of the film Kita-Kita (I See You) directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, the story happened in Sapporo, Hokkaido Japan, which tells the story of Lea (Alessandra de Rossi) and Tonyo (Empoy Marquez). Lea suffers from temporary blindness, and Tonyo took this chance to introduce himself to Lea and get close with each other. Since Tonyo is a stranger to Lea, she initially avoids his presence, but because of Tonyo’s persistence, she eventually welcomed Tonyo in her life. Tonyo gave color to Lea’s dark world caused by her blindness.
This has been a blockbuster Indie film in 2017,

And to show much appreciation of the film, there will be a foreign remake in Indonesia to be shown in cinemas on October 10, 2019. This has been titled, Cinta Itu Buta (Love is Blind). This might be a direct adaptation from the Philippine original, but it offers a different twist in the story.

The Kita-Kita director shared on her Instagram account the trailer of the Indonesian remake, where instead of the setting in Japan, it was set in Busan, South Korea. She captioned her post with this, “Ugh.. got teary eyed on this. Congratulations team #KitaKita and #CintuItuButa(@cintaitubutaofficial)! Can’t wait to watch this Indonesian remake shot in Busan, Korea!"
The roles will be played by Indonesian artists, Dodit Mulyanto and Shandy Aulia. Just like with the Philippine version, this followed a romance comedy plot, and the man definitely shares a resemblance with how Empoy Marquez looks like. So, laughter will be anticipated at the same time be ready for your tissue for the tears. This might also become a hit in the Philippines. Would you be there to watch this?
